Sonny Kinion

Sonny’s specialty is litigation consulting and business valuations, but he does a little bit of everything. “I spend a lot of time in court,” he says, referring to his experience as an expert witness. He’s a founding partner of Brown Kinion & Company and has spent nearly his entire professional career, spanning over 40 years, with the company.

Sonny graduated Northeastern State University with a degree in Accounting and Business Administration in 1969 at the age of 19. He finished school in 2-and-a-half years because “I was hungry.” By 1973, he’d also passed the CPA exam. In addition, he holds designations as a Certified Valuation Analyst and as a Master Analyst in Financial Forensics.

He grew up in Strang, Oklahoma near Pryor and has spent his life as a resident of Northeastern Oklahoma.

He’s a past chairman of the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce and sat on the executive board for 12 years. He’s also treasurer of the Broken Arrow Community foundation. During his involvement with Broken Arrow Neighbors, he was the co-founder of the largest fundraiser in Broken Arrow, Wine, Eats and Easels.

Sonny is extremely proud of his three children, who’ve all achieved success of their own and as he says, “not too many people have the good fortune to go three-for-three.”
